On average, eachion inhabitants on planet Earth produces 600 grams of garbage per day, already an alarming figure in the world due to the excessive amount of waste that is accumulating. In Mexico, some actions are already being taken to reduce these figures. The General Law of Ecological Balance and Environmental Protection enacted in 2003 mentions the issuance of laws so that packaging materials seek to reduce the generation of solid waste. What does this mean? It means that from the creation of a product, alternatives must be sought for its disposal, recycling being one of the most important initiatives, but more than what the producer does, it is about consumers making the correct disposal. Its philosophy is based on seven fundamental axes: Relevance: The ranking is intended to be representative of the sustainability of the business in the current socioeconomic context. Transparency: The exact methodology of the ranking and the results of the process are fully revealed. Objectivity: Eligible companies will only be evaluated using quantitative data and performance indicators. Public data: Only data that is part of the public domain is used. Comparability: Companies are compared to their industry group peers based on performance indicators for which the underlying data is reasonably well disclosed by their industry group around the world. Commitment: Companies eligible for ranking will be informed prior to ranking, to have the opportunity to ensure that the necessary data is made publicly available. Interest Groups: Feedback from interested parties is actively solicited throughout the project.
